The 7th graders finished designing and coloring their tessellations. We talked about using contrasting colors and making a pattern with color.

7th graders are working with tessellations. We learned that a tessellation has repeating shapes, no gaps and can continue in every direction. We started working with basic shapes and then learned how to make a translation and rotation tessellation. M.C. Escher is a famous artist who created amazing tessellations. Each student designed their own tessellation piece to repeat for their artwork. Here are some of the works in progress. Enjoy!
