In Painting class, students looked at the artwork of Jim Dine as inspiration. We learned that he used many simple symbols that reflected his life, childhood and held a sense of nostalgia for him.
Each student chose a simple symbol as the theme of their overall artwork. The students had 8-9 smaller wood pieces to show their theme in a variety of ways. Students used a wide variety of materials to create this artwork, which is an example of mixed media art.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up.
