In high school painting, we looked at the art of Piet Mondrian and how it changed over time. He started by painting realistic places and flowers. Later, he was influenced by the Cubist artists and started breaking apart his subject matter. He finally made a very simple shapes and colors in his paintings. He is well-known for this new and unique type of abstract art. Students created their own abstract art design on a pre-made ceramic vase. We worked on craftsmanship for this simple style of abstract art.
