In Art Foundations class, students are learning about the principle of design, Emphasis. To place emphasis on something, it is usually bigger and placed near the center of the composition. Students planned out an idea based on animals, spring or architecture. The most popular ideas were animals. Students then practiced with clay using additive and subtractive clay methods. Each student then rolled a larger slab of clay and attached or carved into the clay for their design. We will be glazing the work later this week.
