In Art Foundations, students were learning about the art element value. We practiced creating value with watercolor paint and we also practiced using watercolor paint in different ways. Students read about and looked at art images from Georgia O'Keefe. Each student practiced drawing different flowers and then chose a flower to create a close-up drawing and painting. Students learned how to crop and enlarge a drawing using a grid. Then each student used the watercolor techniques we practiced to paint the flower.
