1st graders had a great time moving to the music and drawing each other in art class. We looked at how artists combine movement with art. We watched a video clip from the Beijing Olympics, Lara Hanson's Performance art and a few short videos of Cirque du Soleil. Click on those links to see what we explored in art class!

The 4th graders finished their mosaics using lots of small materials. Take a look at their beautiful work! The 3rd grade students have been learning new ways of using materials and expressive color. This week they started creating a bigger print based off of the most beautiful place they know or the most enjoyable place. They were encouraged to use bright colors and color hard on the sandpaper. Take a look at some of the first prints! 2nd graders were able to make a beautiful snowy background using watercolor, salt, white paint and Q-tips. They also were able to get started on their penguin. We'll be adding lots of extra materials and details this next week.
1st graders have been looking at all kinds of minibeasts and insects in connecting art with science. We were able to create our own minibeast using clay. It was a messy, fun time!
