The 5th graders create some pretty amazing designs from a smaller foam design they created. At first, most students thought this looked really complicated and difficult. They were surprised to see how easy it was to make a radial symmetry design. It was a little more difficult to get the right amount of ink to make a good print. Here are some really good prints!

4th graders have been learning about art from different religions. Most Islamic art is made with patterns and designs. Here are some of the designs using crayons and watercolor paint.
3rd graders are creating the leaf part of their trees. They are weaving different colors for fall or summer trees. For some, it has been a big challenge to use the yarn and go over and under. We will be finishing the tree this Friday! I'm excited to see them all finished.
The second influential artist we are learning about is Walt Disney. He created art, posters, an animation company and Walt Disney theme parks. His dream was to bring joy and happiness to people and bring them together. Students are designing their own theme parks. Here are some of the works in progress! Can you guess what kind of theme park they are? 1st grader are learning about the artist Gustav Klimt and how he used lines, shapes and patterns in his paintings. The 1st graders are making a patterned background and will be adding a special person in front of it.
In Kindergarten art, we are using texture to make art. We learned that texture is how something feels. Students did texture rubbings around the art room and school. We also used texture plates to fill our paper with texture. Students will create a pattern of shapes on top of their texture paper.
