Today the 3rd graders removed the tape from their paintings and found their drawings again. The first graders finished their overlapping hands with shapes and are now working on using lines in their artwork. Here are those hands with oil on the paper to make them transparent.
We looked at the artist Henri Matisse for inspiration in creating a drawing of our favorite room. After that, we looked at how Matisse often has a main color in his room paintings and some accent colors. The students drew a favorite room and used one main color with accents like Henri Matisse! They also thought about the feeling of the room based on the color they choose.
We are almost finished with the bubble paintings. We need another day for most of the kids to finish and then we'll take off the tape and see the awesome design.
4th graders have been focusing on what is important to them. We have talked about how we can show what we believe and value in our artwork. Here is some of what we have been doing in 4th grade art!
5th graders have been working with shapes in creative ways. We have cut paper and are now working on a symmetrical ink painting. Here are some of the things we have been doing in art class.
