The fourth grade class has experimented with watercolor paint to create different textures, trees and effects. They each will be working on their own bigger landscape this week.
3rd graders had a great time working with clay this past week. We are learning about 3D sculpture and how it has three dimensions: length, width and depth. They carved a small foam piece last week. This week we worked with clay to model or shape a real or imaginary creature. Here are some of the works in progress!
The 2nd graders have been learning different ways to make prints. The past 2 weeks they have had the chance to work with foam. Part of their design is pushed in and part of it sticks out. This is called a relief print. They each got to try a small foam piece with their own design.
The first graders are making their own rainstick from the Pringles cans they brought in. We looked at the book Bringing the Rain to the Kapiti Plain and talked about how many places in the world are dry and do something special to call for or bring the rain to their land.
