7th graders learned about the style of art called POP ART. Students saw how the art showed things from popular or consumer culture. We also looked at Egyptian canopic jars, which were used to store organs during the mummification process. Each student built their own jar and then added their own item from popular or consumer culture that is popular to them now. Enjoy!

The 6th graders looked at artwork by Clarence Carter for inspiration. Students made their portrait peeking over a wall with an inspiring, positive message that they wanted to share. Which messages inspire you? 6th graders learned about quilt history and how it connects to our past and traditions. Students learned about barn quilts and were able to design and paint their own mini barn quilt on wood. Some skills we learned were using rulers to make geometric shapes, making a grid and enlarging a design on a larger surface. Students also learned how to use tape to help them create a neater and more exact painting. |
