The 7th graders recently finished drawing and painting tessellations. A tessellation is a shape or pattern that repeats in all directions without any gaps. We are focusing on color now and how color influences us. Students are creating a warm and cool radial design that they will weave together.

The 6th graders have been working on a variety of projects. They started with an oil pastel blending artwork. They created organic lines and then colored using pastel blending. Students then learned how to make a pinch pot and built & glazed 2 pinch pots. Students are now creating a silhouette covered with colored dots. They each chose a pose that represents something about themselves. We looked at the Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama for inspiration. You can find more information about her on this website.
