The 7th graders learned some cool things about China and Chinese paper cuts. You can find out more by going to this Prezi. Each student chose an animal to make into a paper cut. They also chose contrasting colors and a background so that they had 3 layers of color.

The 7th graders got to do some really fun drip painting to create this project. We looked at city skylines and each student chose a city skyline for their artwork. They drew on and cut it out of contact paper and attached the positive space to the bottom of the paper and the negative space to the top of the paper. Then students got their paint colors ready to make one warm color drip painting and one cool color drip painting. Students painted over the contact paper and sprayed the paint with a spray bottle of water to make the colors drip. It was a lot of fun to see all the amazing drips and colors!
The 7th graders have been working with color and using it in creative ways. Students created their own paper designs using complementary colors (red & green, blue & orange, purple & yellow) and positive & negative space by flipping the colors on half of the paper. Enjoy their creative works! |
