8th art Cupcake designs!

8th graders have been looking at the artwork of Wayne Thiebaud.  He often paints ordinary things, such as cakes, cupcakes and other desserts.  Our focus for this unit is 'Ordinary things inspire us.'  The 8th graders were able to paint (and eat) a cupcake in the style of Thiebaud.  They also are creating their own cupcake mug.  We finished building the cupcake mugs, now we just need to wait for them to dry and get fired in the kiln.  Then they will glaze them with different colors so it is safe to drink from.
