6th graders learned about quilt history and how it connects to our past and traditions. Students learned about barn quilts and were able to design and paint their own mini barn quilt on wood. Some skills we learned were using rulers to make geometric shapes, making a grid and enlarging a design on a larger surface. Students also learned how to use tape to help them create a neater and more exact painting.
