Students finished their flower close-up drawings. We looked at the artist Georgia O'Keefe and how she would often zoom in and crop a flower. We talked about the rule of 1/3's and it's importance in placing the subject off-center to make for a more interesting composition. Students cropped their flower photo to place the center of the flower in the 1/3 area. Then they made a grid to enlarge their flower. Here are some finished artworks with chalk and oil pastel.
