1st graders just finished an artwork using patterns and a special person. Each student filled their paper with background pattern using oil pastels. Then they drew and colored a special person in their life. Many students chose mom, dad or grandpa as their special person. When they were finished, students painted with watercolor over the whole paper! The oil pastel and watercolor don't mix so we still see the patterns and person!

In Kindergarten art we have been working with texture. Students created texture rubbings using texture plates. They cut out circles and rectangle shapes to practice more with cutting. Each student placed the circles and rectangles in a pattern. Because it was the Friday before Halloween, we added a spooky touch to our circles! Enjoy!
