Kindergartners practiced crayon rubbings of many different textures in class on Friday. This coming Friday, we will use texture plates to create different texture on our October pumpkin drawings!
1st graders are working with shapes and lines to make patterns. Here are some patterns we practiced to start an artwork inspired by Gustav Klimt.
2nd graders finishing painting the clay faces inspired by Pablo Picasso
Each student designed and colored their own theme park inspired by Walt Disney.
3rd graders just finished the leaf weavings on the paper plate. Students could choose one or many colors to make the leaves of the tree. It was a challenge for some students to remember how to weave, but all were able to weave some leaves on the tree. Enjoy the variety of trees in the Iowa landscape!
4th graders are learning how we can express our beliefs and values in art. We learned how Christian art expresses stories from the Bible. Each student chose a story and drew it as broken shapes so light can shine through the cuts and make a lantern.
